Puzzle solution
The correct answer is Sydney Opera House. A fantastic building, so unusual. It wouldn't get built today, cities are no longer daring, imaginative, or wealthy enough.
Travel by freighter from NZ to Australia, then after touring around for a bit, by sea to Singapore. From there, trains and buses through south-east Asia into China. Taking the Tran-Mongolian railway from Beijing to Moscow. Trains and buses through eastern, central, and western Europe and then a boat or the chunnel to England. This plan may change if I feel like it (especially since I might go to India). Keep reading the blog!
